                           Food


Food: Food is a collection of essential elements that maintain the normal growth and performance of the body, supply the necessary energy for various functions and above all build immunity.


Nutrition: Nutrition is a process through which the food taken in is absorbed and produces heat and energy in the body to grow the body and create immunity in the body. Nutritious food: Eating food that produces heat and energy in the body, increases body structure, makes the body strong, functional and healthy.


Nutritious food : Food and nutrition are interrelated. No matter what food is consumed, it must be nutritious and safe. If you don't eat nutritious food, your immune system will decrease and you will get various diseases in your body. Consuming nutritious food is good for both body and mind.


Ingredients and Sources : All the chemical substances of food that complete the body's work properly are known as food ingredients.  According to chemical nature all food ingredients are divided into six categories, these are-

1) Sugars (carbohydrates)

 Sources: Rice, bread, potato, millet, chira, khai, sugar, honey etc.


2) Oils and fats

 Source: Oils, fish-meat fat, butter, ghee etc


 3) Meat (Protein)

 Sources: Fish, meat, eggs, milk, pulses, nuts, seeds etc


 4) Vitamins

 Source: Milk, eggs, liver, all kinds of vegetables, fruits etc


 5) Minerals

 Sources: Fish, meat, liver, milk, eggs, dark green vegetables, salt etc.


 6) Water

 These 6 elements should be present in our daily diet in certain quantity and in correct amount.  If they are absent in our daily diet, the symptoms of the deficiency of that specific element appear in the body.  If this deficiency is long, people get sick.
